Two history sheeter shot dead by police at around 3.30 am today after they attacked police officials with a sickle at Guduvanchery on the outskirts of Chennai.

Tuesday.S Vinood alias Chota Vinood, 35, and S Ramesh, 32, have been named as the deceased. Both men are known history sheeters who have more than 50 and 20 charges outstanding against them, respectively.

SI deflected the fatal blow

A senior police source claimed, “The SI managed to deflect the fatal blow intended for his head and fired at one of them, while the police inspector, Murugesan, who was also on the team inspecting the vehicles, rushed to his colleague’s aid and fired at another man.”

Two further attackers who also attacked the SI ran away. The physicians at the Chengalpattu government hospital declared the two injured people to be “brought dead,” according to the police, who transported them there.

The Chromepet government hospital has admitted Sub Inspector of Police Sivagurunathan for treatment. The visual of the incident showed there was a head-on collision between the car being derived by the goons and the police vehicle. Both the vehicles got damaged after the collision.

The Sub Inspector of Police Sivagurunathan has been admitted to the Chromepet government hospital for treatment.

The forensic team reached the spot and collected evidence.
