The men’s and women’s teams that will compete in the 2018 Hangzhou Asian Games, which will begin on September 23 and end on October 8, were officially revealed by the BCCI on Friday. The men’s cricket competition will begin on September 28 and go until October 8, while the women’s competition will run from September 19 through September 28. T20 forms will be used for both competitions.

Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the men’s team, which features players with skills like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rahul Tripathi, Tilak Varma, and Rinku Singh, among others. Standbys include people like Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, and Sai Sudharsan.

The other players chosen after an outstanding IPL include Dube, Jaiswal, Varma, and Prabhsimran Singh. Rinku, whose omission from the T20s series in the Caribbean was questioned, made the cut. Dube, who assisted CSK in winning a fifth title that tied the record, experienced his coming-of-age season.

Jaiswal’s immense performance lets him play in Asian games

Jaiswal became just the third Indian to get 150 in his first game for India on Thursday after scoring a hundred on his Test debut against the West Indies.
Tilak has also been picked for the squad that will begin a five-match series against the West Indies on August 3.

Arshdeep and Jitesh also make an unexpected entry in the Asian Games 2023

Gaikwad, who will captain the team in China, is presently in the Caribbean with the Test team. The team also includes left-arm bowler Arshdeep Singh and wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma.

Women’s squad for the Asia Cup 2023

The women’s team will be captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana serving as her assistant. The standby list includes Harleen Deol, Kashvee Gautam, Sneh Rana, Saika Ishaque, and Pooja Vastrakar.

The team also included young bowler Titas Sadhu, who had a strong showing during India’s title-winning campaign. The 18-year-old is not currently traveling with the Indian team to Bangladesh.
