Custom official recovered 28 gold bar in two IndiGo flight
The customs officers of the IGI (Indira Gandhi International) airport have rummaged through two IndiGo flights and recovered 28 gold bars worth Rs 1.15 crore, said the officials.
According to the officials, the action was initiated on Saturday after receiving intelligence inputs from the customs officials.
28 gold bars recovered from IndiGo flights
“One flight was routed from Bangkok to Kolkata to Delhi to Patna to Delhi and the other from Singapore to Hyderabad to Delhi. During rummaging, 28 gold bars (14 from each flight) were recovered, which weighed 2,493 gm,” the official said.
The recovered gold bars were seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act.
Moreover, the gold bars were seized and further investigations are under progress.

Similar case at Banguluru airport
Last week, a similar case was seen on the IndiGo flight, as the customs official seized approx. 1.2 kg of gold from the slipper of a passenger at Bengaluru airport on Wednesday. According to the official,s market value of the gold found is estimated to be around Rs 69.40 lakh. The passenger had arrived at Bengaluru from Bangkok via an IndiGo flight.
