On Thursday 17 March, hail and thunderstorms have been experienced in parts of Maharashtra. Also, Rainfall is predicted in Mumbai and the nearby areas, providing relief from the sweltering heat. Such circumstances may persist for a few more days, according to the IMD (India Meteorological Department).

Thunderstorms or widespread rainfall with hail may affect Yanam and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh, Mumbai, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Marathawada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Rayalaseema, and Telangana may have quite extensive rainfall as well as thunderstorms or hailstorms.

Over Nagaland, Manipur, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, scattered showers with hail or thunderstorms are likely.

Across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mizoram, Tripura, East Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan, Goa, North and South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe, isolated showers with a probability of lightning or hail are predicted.
