UAE Deputy PM Arrives In India For Talks On Strategic Partnership

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Mumbai on Monday for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties with India.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) welcomed the UAE leader and said Maharashtra Skill Development Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha received him upon arrival.

In a post on X, the MEA said the high-level visit reflected the close and regular engagement between the two countries. It added that the visit would further strengthen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will host his UAE counterpart in Mumbai on October 19 and 20, 2026. The discussions will provide an opportunity to review bilateral cooperation and advance ongoing initiatives across several sectors.

Addressing a media briefing in New Delhi on Friday, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the two delegations would assess cooperation in energy, trade, investments, financial technology, defence and connectivity.

The leaders will exchange views on the evolving situation in West Asia, alongside broader global developments and multilateral issues.

Jaiswal described the visit as an important opportunity to review all aspects of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and identify areas for further collaboration.

Separately, Jaishankar will hold talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on October 20 and attend celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American independence as the Guest of Honour.

The UAE visit underscores the continued high-level engagement between New Delhi and Abu Dhabi, with both sides seeking to deepen cooperation across strategic, economic and regional priorities.
