ICC Awards: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill And Sikandar Raza Nominated For September Honour

India batters Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, along with Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza, have been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for September after impressive white-ball performances.

Abhishek dominated India’s three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, accumulating 229 runs at an average of 76.33.

The left-hander opened the series with 82 off 32 balls in Delhi before smashing 108 off 45 in the final match.

He reached his century in only 30 balls, setting the fastest T20I hundred by a batter from a Full Member nation.

His innings featured 11 sixes and a strike rate of 317.64, while his partnership with Sanju Samson helped India record their highest Powerplay score of 100/0.

Abhishek collected two Player of the Match awards and the Player of the Series prize.

Gill enjoyed an equally remarkable September as India captain and the world’s No. 1-ranked ODI batter.

He scored 110 against the West Indies before producing an unbeaten 223 from 133 balls in Guwahati.

His knock powered India to the second-highest successful ODI chase in history while becoming the highest individual score in a successful chase.

Raza earned his nomination after several influential performances against Australia. He scored 57 in the opening ODI, followed by 45 in the second match.

In the series finale, Raza remained unbeaten on 81 from 72 balls to help Zimbabwe reach 271/8. He also claimed two wickets, including the dismissal of centurion Josh Inglis.

The three nominees will now compete for the September monthly award.
