PM Modi also said the achievement could inspire young athletes to take up shooting and pursue top honours.
PM Modi’s post emphasised the potential of the victory to encourage young sportspersons to enter the sport, while Shah drew attention to the records associated with the result.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his congratulations to Dhanda, calling her victory an extraordinary feat.
Shah noted that the shooter had secured the gold during her Asian Games debut. He further said her performance had set both a new Asian record and an Asian Games record.
In his social media message, Shah expressed pride in the champion’s achievement and celebrated her success in the Women’s Trap competition.
