Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indian shooters Suruchi Inder Singh and Kamaljeet after the duo won the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
The Indian pair delivered a composed performance in the final, scoring 484.6 points to secure the top position and set a new Asian record in the event.

Suruchi and Kamaljeet maintained their composure throughout a closely contested final, producing accurate shots and holding their advantage as the competition intensified.
Their consistency proved crucial in the mixed-team event, where the combined performance of both shooters determines the final score.
The Indian duo finished at the top with 484.6 points, ahead of the Republic of Korea’s Choo Gaeun and Hong Suhyeon, who secured the silver medal with 478.0 points.
Iran’s Rostamyan Haniyeh and Golkhandan Vahid claimed the bronze medal after recording 415.8 points, while Indonesia’s Darmoyo A. and Prabowo M. finished fourth with 349.4 points.
The victory added another gold medal to India’s shooting campaign at the continental event and highlighted the shooters’ accuracy, discipline and composure under pressure.
The Asian record further strengthened the significance of the achievement, giving Suruchi and Kamaljeet a record-breaking performance alongside their gold medal finish.
Their 484.6 score further confirmed India’s victory and marked a notable moment for the country’s shooting contingent at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
