Advocate Shah Jabeen Qazi, founder and chairperson of Al-Qazi Urdu Academy and Coaching Trust, received a special Bharat Express honour. She was recognised for promoting Urdu, education and language development.
The award was presented during the ‘Bazm-e-Sahafat’ Urdu Journalism Conclave. The event was organised at the India International Centre in New Delhi in collaboration with the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL).
Saharanpur MP and senior Congress leader Imran Masood, senior BJP leader and spokesperson Alok Vats, and Bharat Express Urdu Editor Dr Khalid Raza Khan presented the honour. They felicitated Shah Jabeen Qazi during the event.
Several prominent personalities from Urdu journalism, literature, politics and social work attended the event.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Advocate Shah Jabeen Qazi thanked Bharat Express News Network and described the recognition as highly encouraging. She said serving the development of Urdu language, literature and education remains a matter of pride for her.
Advocate Shah Jabeen Qazi said recognition at a prestigious platform such as the ‘Bazm-e-Sahafat Urdu Conclave’ had strengthened her resolve to continue working for Urdu. She further added that she would remain committed to the educational and literary development of the younger generation.
Shah Jabeen Qazi congratulated the Bharat Express News Network for organising the event. She further congratulated the entire conclave team for successfully conducting the programme.
Advocate Shah Jabeen Qazi has actively worked at various levels to promote Urdu. She further considers providing education to underprivileged children, arranging their educational facilities and meeting their essential needs among her key objectives.
Shah Jabeen Qazi has consistently worked to create educational awareness in Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh and Mewat in Haryana. She regularly participates in programmes dedicated to Urdu language and literature.
The ‘Urdu Journalism Conclave’ under ‘Bazm-e-Sahafat’ discussed the present state of Urdu and Urdu journalism, its historical contribution, its role in nation-building and its significance in political discourse.
Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju attended the inaugural session as Chief Guest.
Former Union Minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, former Rajya Sabha MP and senior journalist Shahid Siddiqui, and Professor Dr Shahid Akhtar, officiating chairman of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI), attended as guests of honour.
Bharat Express News Network Director and Group Managing Editor Radheshyam Rai delivered the keynote address.
NCPUL Director Dr Mohammad Shams Equbal delivered the introductory address. Bharat Express Urdu Editor Dr Khalid Raza Khan delivered the welcome address.
Bharat Express Urdu Chief Sub-Editor Dr Nisar Ahmad Khan moderated the programme.
Following the inaugural session, Bharat Express Urdu screened a documentary on NCPUL’s history and activities. A panel discussion followed.
The second session focused on ‘The Role of Urdu Journalism in Nation-Building’. The third session, meanwhile, explored ‘The Role of Urdu in Political Discourse’.
Experts and journalists shared their perspectives on both subjects.
The concluding session, however, featured an All India Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan organised in collaboration with the Delhi Urdu Academy.
Renowned poets and shayars from across the country presented their works, captivating the audience with their literary performances.
