Vice President CP Radhakrishnan on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and praised his leadership for strengthening India’s global standing and driving development across various sectors.

In a post on X, Radhakrishnan said India is ‘shining as a bright spot in the world’ and remains among the fastest-growing major economies under PM Modi’s leadership.

He also highlighted the country’s progress in areas including space, technology, healthcare, infrastructure and manufacturing.

Radhakrishnan said more than 25 crore Indians have moved out of extreme poverty and credited the country’s digital transformation with empowering millions. He also praised initiatives that renamed backward districts as ‘Aspirational Districts’, border villages as ‘Vibrant and First Villages’ and the North-East as ‘Ashtalakshmi’.

He said these initiatives reflect a forward-looking approach that has turned geographical marginalisation into greater participation and empowerment in the journey towards Viksit Bharat.

The Vice President also recalled his travels across the country over the past year, saying he had witnessed how development was reaching even remote parts of India. He wished PM Modi good health, happiness and strength as he works towards the goal of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also extended birthday greetings to PM Modi, praising India’s progress in development, self-reliance, innovation, digital advancement, infrastructure and public welfare.

Birla also highlighted PM Modi’s 25 years in public life, saying his journey has contributed to upholding democratic values and supporting vulnerable and underprivileged sections of society.

PM Modi, born on September 17, 1950, in Gujarat’s Vadnagar, has served as Prime Minister since May 2014. He previously served as Gujarat Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014. This year also marks 25 years of his public life.
