Adani Airports To Raise Rs 9,825 Crore From Global Investors At $18 Billion Valuation

Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) announced on Wednesday that it will raise ₹9,825 crore ($1 billion) in primary equity capital from a consortium of global investors.

The investment ranks among the largest primary equity investments by financial institutions in India’s airport infrastructure sector.

The airport operator, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, has signed binding agreements with Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek and funds managed by BlackRock.

The transaction values AAHL at a pre-money equity valuation of $18 billion.

Jeet Adani, Non-Executive Director of AAHL, said the partnership would support the company’s plans to expand its airport platform and invest ahead of India’s growing aviation demand. He said stronger air connectivity could drive trade, tourism, employment and regional development.

AAHL will use the proceeds to expand and modernise its airport infrastructure, accelerate Adani Airport City developments and scale passenger-focused and other non-aeronautical businesses, including ground handling services.

The first phase of the Airport City programme includes 22 million square feet of planned mixed-use development.

The investments are expected to further increase AAHL’s annual passenger capacity to 200 million, improve passenger experience and strengthen commercial opportunities across its integrated airport ecosystem.

Arun Bansal, CEO of AAHL, said the company aims to build one of the world’s largest airport platforms. He pointed to India’s expanding aviation market, rising consumer spending and urban development opportunities as key growth drivers.

The transaction, however, follows Adani Enterprises’ ₹15,000 crore qualified institutional placement in July 2026, described by the company as India’s largest QIP by a non-financial corporate. Together, the transactions highlight continued institutional investor interest in the Adani portfolio.

AAHL currently manages eight airports across India and handles more than 23 per cent of the country’s total passenger traffic.
