Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday. He sought the Prime Minister’s guidance on Assam’s flood recovery, rebuilding strategy and key initiatives completed during his government’s first 100 days.
Sarma said the discussion centred on the next stage of the state’s flood response. The plan includes reconstructing damaged areas, restoring livelihoods and rehabilitating flood-affected residents.
In a post on X, Sarma said PM Modi had maintained constant contact with the Assam government throughout the flood situation. He said the Prime Minister closely monitored developments and provided all possible assistance from the Centre.
“Today in New Delhi, I had the privilege of calling upon Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji to seek his blessings and guidance,” CM Sarma posted.
CM Sarma presented the state’s roadmap for rebuilding flood-hit areas and restoring normalcy.
According to him, PM Modi reiterated the Centre’s ‘unwavering support’ and assured continued assistance until recovery and rehabilitation efforts reach their logical conclusion.
The Chief Minister further briefed PM Modi on major measures undertaken during the government’s first 100 days. He said these initiatives seek to fulfil the people’s mandate and advance the broader vision of a ‘Viksit Assam’.
