India concluded its Glasgow campaign with 39 medals, 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze, to finish fourth in the overall medal standings.
The Commonwealth Games 2026 officially concluded after 11 days of competition, with the closing ceremony marking the beginning of India’s preparations to host the centenary edition of the Games in Ahmedabad in 2030.
During the ceremony, Commonwealth Games officials handed over the Games flag to Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, formally launching India’s journey as the next host nation.
India also showcased its culture through a special performance led by Shankar Mahadevan and Manushi Chhillar, offering the world a glimpse of Ahmedabad’s vision for the 2030 Games.
The 2030 Commonwealth Games will make India only the second country after Australia to host the event twice, marking a significant milestone in the country’s sporting history.
