Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday and discussed key issues, including a Naxal-free Odisha, industrial expansion, cooperative sector development, internal security, law and order, and welfare initiatives.
Chief Minister Majhi said Odisha is advancing under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He credited Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s guidance for the state’s progress.
The Odisha Chief Minister briefed Amit Shah on the state’s development initiatives, security situation and law and order. He also discussed the implementation of major welfare schemes.
CM Majhi also sought sustained Central support to strengthen Odisha’s development journey.
The Chief Minister thanked the Union Home Minister for his leadership, stating that Odisha has now earned recognition as a ‘Naxal-free state’. He said the elimination of Left-Wing Extremism has created favourable conditions for socio-economic progress.
CM Majhi said the state is implementing welfare schemes in former Naxal-affected areas through the Gramodaya Yojana. He also highlighted that proactive policing has strengthened law and order across the state.
The Chief Minister underlined Odisha’s rapid industrial growth over the past two years and requested Central assistance to enhance industrial security and sustain investment. He also thanked the Centre for supporting the cooperative sector, particularly the revival of sugar mills.
CM Majhi said the state’s double-engine government has earned public confidence through direct public outreach and swift grievance redressal. He also outlined major development and welfare programmes.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah appreciated Odisha’s development-focused governance and welfare initiatives. He assured the Chief Minister of the Centre’s full support in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Odisha.
The Chief Minister also held discussions with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He separately met NITI Aayog member KV Raju and members of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister to discuss various development issues.
