Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak with participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 through video conferencing on Sunday at 04:30 PM.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said the interaction will allow participants to share their experiences and insights from their time in India’s border villages.
MY Bharat is implementing the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme to encourage development and strengthen public participation in frontier villages.
The initiative supports the Prime Minister’s vision of treating border villages as the country’s first villages and integrating them into the mission of building a developed India.
The programme took place in two phases between 4 June and 30 June 2026 across 74 villages in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
Organisers selected more than 400 young participants from every State and Union Territory through a nationwide online quiz that received over three lakh entries.
Participants stayed with residents to gain first-hand knowledge of the social, cultural, and economic life of communities living along India’s borders.
Throughout the programme, participants organised cleanliness drives, created awareness about government schemes, attended Yuva Sammelans, took part in cultural exchange events, planted trees, participated in Mini Model Panchayat simulations, interacted with local artisans, and visited strategically important institutions. These activities helped participants understand the developmental priorities, cultural diversity, and strategic significance of India’s frontier regions while strengthening community participation and national unity.
The Prime Minister’s interaction is expected to highlight the government’s continued emphasis on inclusive growth and recognise the role of border villages in India’s development.
The programme also underlines the importance of empowering young citizens to contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat by supporting sustainable development in remote frontier areas.
