Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 through video conferencing on Sunday at 04:30 PM, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced.
According to the PMO, the programme, implemented through MY Bharat, aims to strengthen development and community participation in India’s border villages.
The initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of treating frontier villages as the nation’s first villages and making them active partners in the journey towards a Viksit Bharat
The Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 covered 74 border villages across Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in two phases from June 4 to June 30.
The organisers selected more than 400 young participants from every State and Union Territory through a nationwide online quiz that attracted over three lakh entries.
During the programme, participants stayed with local communities to experience life in India’s border regions first-hand. They took part in Swachhta drives, awareness campaigns on government schemes, Yuva Sammelans, cultural exchange programmes, tree plantation drives, Mini Model Panchayat simulations, interactions with local artisans and visits to strategically important institutions.
The PMO said the initiative gave participants valuable exposure to the socio-economic landscape, cultural heritage and developmental aspirations of frontier regions while promoting community participation, national integration and awareness of the strategic importance of border villages.
The Prime Minister’s interaction will allow participants to share their experiences and insights from the field while reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive development and stronger border communities.
The programme forms part of the broader vision of building a Viksit Bharat by ensuring that remote frontier villages actively contribute to the country’s growth, security and long-term development.
