Alia Bhatt, on Tuesday, criticised a publication for invading her privacy. The actor took to social media to express her disfavour over the invasion of her privacy by a media publication. The Brahmāstra actress shared two photos of herself taken from her Bandra residence, where she can be seen standing on the balcony of her home, using her phone.
On her Instagram stories, Alia shared a collage of two pictures (clicked by the paparazzi), in which she can be seen sitting in her living room. Along with the images, she wrote a furious note that read, “Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my LIVING ROOM when I felt something watching me… I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighbouring building with a camera right at me!”
She finished her note writing, “In what world is this okay and allowed? This is a gross invasion of someone’s privacy! There’s a line you just cannot cross and it’s safe to say all lines were crossed today!” The actress has also tagged Mumbai police in her post.
Point to be noted this is not the first time Alia Bhatt called out the media. During her pregnancy, she once called out a media report that claimed that Ranbir Kapoor might travel to the UK to “bring his wife home”. During that period Alia was in London filming her Hollywood debut Heart Of Stone. On her Social Media handle Instagram, Alia pointed out that she doesn’t need to be “picked up” or get rest, explaining that no schedules were being affected in any way.
Soon after the incident celebs across the industry come to support Alia and express their feelings about the incident. Alia’s mom, actor Soni Razdan, called for immediate action, her sister Shaheen Bhatt called it ‘terrifying’ and said it would have been considered ‘harassment’ had Alia weren’t a celebrity

Taking to Instagram Stories, Soni Razdan wrote, “Shocked and dismayed at this blatant disregard for a person’s privacy. Are we turning into ‘that country’ now? Where do all our cultural norms simply cease to exist when it comes to ‘getting the picture’? Hope someone can address this quickly!”

Shaheen penned a note to share her disappointment. She wrote on Instagram Stories, “So it’s cool to point zoom lenses into people’s homes while hiding in neighbouring buildings for “content” now? Grown men. With cameras. Hiding across the road. Taking surreptitious photos of an UNAWARE woman. Without her CONSENT. In her HOME.” She further added, “The fact that the person in the photo is a celebrity does not somehow make this okay. If this was any other situation, with any other person -this would be considered harassment and a complete assault on privacy. Which is what it is. The lack of basic human decency is honestly terrifying.”
Actor Anushka Sharma took the matter to her Instagram stories and wrote, “Despite requesting the said photographer and the publication, they continue to invade our privacy. Guys! Stop this right now!”
