Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake an official visit to France and Slovakia from June 13 to June 19, with the trip aimed at deepening India’s strategic partnerships in Europe and enhancing engagement with leading global economies.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Prime Minister Modi will begin his visit in Nice, France, from June 13-14 at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The two leaders will likely hold bilateral talks on June 14 and review the full spectrum of India-France relations.
During the visit, PM Modi and Macron will jointly inaugurate the ‘Bharat Innovates’ event, a platform bringing together leading startups and venture capital funds from India, France and several other countries.
The India-France Year of Innovation includes the event as one of its key initiatives. The programme will likely strengthen collaboration in emerging technologies and entrepreneurship.
Following his engagements in France, PM Modi will travel to Slovakia for a State Visit. He will undertake the visit from June 14 to 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Robert Fico.
The visit will mark a historic milestone. It will be the first trip by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country gained independence in 1993.
During his stay, Prime Minister Modi will hold discussions with Fico and explore opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation. He is also scheduled to meet Slovak President Peter Pellegrini.
The visit will likely strengthen collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, automobile manufacturing and railway production.
On June 16 and 17, the Prime Minister will participate in the G7 Summit in Evian, France. During the summit, he will interact with leaders of G7 nations, invited partner countries and international organisations.
The summit will provide an opportunity to discuss major global issues and strengthen international cooperation.
In the final leg of his visit, PM Modi will travel to Paris on June 18 to attend the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s largest technology and startup event. He will likely engage with members of the Indian diaspora.
The MEA said the visit reflects India’s growing global stature and its role as a leading voice of the Global South.
