India will host the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday, with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar set to welcome Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for crucial discussions under the Quad framework.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the meeting will focus on strengthening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, maritime security, resilient supply chains, critical minerals, emerging technologies and key geopolitical developments, including the situations in West Asia and Ukraine.
The Quad Ministers will continue discussions on the vision of a ‘Free and Open Indo-Pacific’ following talks held in Washington DC in July 2025. They will review ongoing initiatives focused on regional stability, economic growth and strategic cooperation.
The agenda includes infrastructure, climate action, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, economic security and technology partnerships.
During the visit, the Foreign Ministers of Australia and Japan, along with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will also hold bilateral talks with EAM S Jaishankar.
Ahead of the meeting, EAM S Jaishankar met Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi in New Delhi and reaffirmed the strong India-Japan partnership rooted in their shared Indo-Pacific vision. Motegi is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Quad Meeting comes amid evolving geopolitical developments in the Indo-Pacific region.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described India as one of America’s key strategic partners and highlighted strong cooperation between the two countries on critical minerals, supply chains and counter-terrorism.
