The Central Board of Film Certification has approved director Paul George’s Malayalam film Kattalan, allowing it to proceed towards its theatrical release.
Headlined by Antony Varghese, popularly known as Pepe, the film is slated for a worldwide debut on May 28.
The update was shared by Cubes Entertainment through its official Instagram account.

The filmmakers have revealed that Antony Varghese will portray a character with his own name in the film.
The actor, who became widely recognised after playing Vincent Pepe in Angamaly Diaries, continues to be associated with the nickname Pepe.
Sunil features as Maari, while Dushara Vijayan plays Lucy. Kabir Duhan Singh appears as Eddy, and Parth Tiwari takes on the role of Roby. Raj Tirandasu will also be seen in the role of Maari 95.
The soundtrack for the film has been composed by Ravi Basrur, whose inclusion came as a surprise after earlier announcements had named Ajaneesh Loknath.
Production work on the film concluded earlier this year, with the release date being finalised subsequently.
The production team had earlier drawn appreciation for recognising stunt performers by sharing footage from a challenging action sequence and acknowledging their efforts.
Why Kattalan Is Positioned as a Big Action Film
Backed by producer Shareef Muhammed, known for Marco, Kattalan is being positioned as a large-scale action project. The film also includes Rajisha Vijayan, rapper Baby Jean, and veteran actors Jagadeesh and Siddique in key roles.
The story has been written by Paul George, Joby Varghese, and Jero Jacob, marking their first collaboration. The narrative is expected to present an intense and gritty storyline centred on power struggles, betrayal, and high-stakes missions.
The technical crew features cinematographer Renadive, editor Shameer Muhammed, costume designer Dhanya Balakrishnan, and choreographer Sharief.
With growing buzz among fans, Kattalan is expected to draw significant attention when it releases in cinemas worldwide.
