Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates in various government departments and organisations during the 19th Rozgar Mela on Saturday, an official said.
The appointment letters will be handed over through video conferencing, and the Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion.
The Rozgar Mela is a major initiative to create jobs, in line with the Prime Minister’s commitment to providing opportunities for young people.
Since the launch of the initiative, nearly 12 lakh recruitment letters have reached candidates through 18 Rozgar Melas organised across the country.
The 19th Rozgar Mela will take place at 47 locations nationwide.
Candidates selected from different parts of the country will join various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India. These include the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Department of Higher Education, among others.
During the 18th Rozgar Mela held in January, Prime Minister Modi had stressed that connecting young people with skills and creating employment and self-employment opportunities remained a key priority of the government.
The Prime Minister said the Rozgar Mela brought recruitment into mission mode and evolved into an institution over time.
Through the initiative, lakhs of youth have received appointment letters in different government departments.
“India today is among the youngest nations in the world, and the government is consistently striving to create new opportunities for the youth both domestically and globally,” the Prime Minister had said.
PM Modi also highlighted that India’s expanding startup ecosystem, growing digital economy and large-scale investments in modern infrastructure were creating significant employment opportunities for young people across sectors.
