PM Modi Receives ‘Sardar Gaurav Ratna’ During Vadodara Event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday received the ‘Sardar Gaurav Ratna’ from major Patidar community organisations during an event organised in Vadodara, Gujarat.

Patidar community organisations presented the recognition during a programme linked to the inauguration of the Sardar Dham Bhavan-3 complex. Several community leaders and prominent dignitaries attended the occasion.

Organisers said the award represents the highest honour instituted by eight major Patidar organisations to acknowledge contributions linked to social progress and nation-building inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s ideals.

During the programme, the Prime Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Sardar Dham Bhavan-3 facility developed under the Sardar Dham initiative.

According to project details shared at the event, organisers built the complex at an estimated cost of around Rs 150 crore across nearly 4.75 lakh square feet.

The organisation developed the centre as a residential and training facility for students with accommodation for nearly 2,000 residents.

The institution assists students preparing for competitive examinations and pursuing higher studies.

The facility includes hostel accommodation for boys and girls, training centres for UPSC and GPSC aspirants, counselling services, an e-library and an auditorium for community-related activities.

Organisers stated that the Sardar Dham initiative focuses on education, skill enhancement and social upliftment. They added that the project also carries forward the vision and legacy of Sardar Patel.

During the event, Sardardham Pramukh Sevak Gagji Sutariya referred to several initiatives introduced by the PM Narendra Modi-led government.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several decisions that his government describes as historic, including the abolition of Triple Talaq, the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, a new foreign policy approach, and the ‘Make in India’ initiative. We are aligned with ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’,” he stated.

Community members also said the award recognises efforts to encourage youth empowerment through educational institutions and skill development programmes.

The Vadodara facility marks the third major centre established under the Sardar Dham initiative in Gujarat.

Similar centres already operate in Ahmedabad with residential and academic support infrastructure for students.

Representatives of the Patidar community said the initiative draws inspiration from Sardar Patel’s emphasis on unity. They added that the project also reflects his focus on education and long-term national progress. According to community representatives, the initiative also promotes youth development.
