PM Modi described the occasion as ‘special’ in view of the recently concluded local self-government elections, which indicated public endorsement of governance focused on development.

In his communication, the Prime Minister stated, “In politics, we often hear about such toxic narratives that anti-incumbency is rising against governments, but Gujarat has shown the entire nation that this trend has now turned into pro-incumbency.”

PM Modi further explained that since 1995, the electorate has consistently supported administrations prioritising development. This continued backing, he noted, has provided stability, which is crucial for sustained progress.

The Prime Minister portrayed Gujarat as a region where heritage and modern growth coexist, strengthened by an entrepreneurial mindset.

Referring to the Somnath Temple, PM Modi highlighted its enduring significance. He observed that repeated destruction did not deter people from rebuilding it each time.

Prime Minister Modi further added that it stands today as a symbol of faith and culture.

Highlighting the state’s economic journey, the Prime Minister remarked, “Every Gujarati takes pride that the name of Gujarat has reached all parts of India.”

PM Modi also discussed progress in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture and renewable energy.

Speaking about water management, he stated that after 2014, the government took ‘major decisions’ to strengthen irrigation systems. These included advancements linked to the Sardar Sarovar Dam.

The Prime Minister also referred to improvements in connectivity through initiatives such as the Vande Bharat Express. He also highlighted projects enhancing urban and industrial mobility.

Additionally, PM Modi highlighted Gujarat’s position in financial innovation through GIFT City and its expanding port-led development.

Discussing governance reforms, PM Modi noted that digitalisation has strengthened administrative efficiency and empowered citizens across sectors. He emphasised continued efforts to preserve heritage and expand economic opportunities.

Responding to the message, CM Bhupendra Patel expressed gratitude, stating, “On the occasion of Gujarat State Foundation Day, I express my heartfelt gratitude with respect for the inspirational message you have conveyed.”

“Under your guidance, Gujarat has achieved notable accomplishments in infrastructure, industry, agriculture, education and welfare, and has been established as a model state in the country,” he further added.
