Acharya Lokesh, founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti and the World Peace Centre, launched the global campaign ‘We Support Peace’ in Athens. He inaugurated the initiative alongside the Indian Ambassador to Greece and several interfaith spiritual leaders, with participation from a large number of local citizens.
Organisers held the launch during a special event marking religious renaissance and the Athens Declaration.
The gathering brought together respected spiritual figures, including Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji, Shankaracharya Sachchidananda Saraswati, Dr Channasiddharama Swamiji, Bhadreshdas Swamiji, Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji, Gyan Dev Singh, and Jayendra Puri Swamiji.
In the historic city known for its philosophical legacy, dignitaries collectively endorsed the campaign. They held posters and symbolically marked the international launch, extending their blessings for the success of the initiative.
Addressing the gathering, Acharya Lokesh highlighted the pressing need for harmony in today’s world.
“At such a time, humanity needs peace and mutual harmony,” he stated, stressing that conflicts and instability continue to impact societies across the globe.
Acharya Lokesh also expressed optimism about the campaign’s future, noting that it began at the World Peace Centre in Gurugram and is set to expand internationally.
The initiative aims to unite people across nations and faiths in a shared commitment to peace and coexistence.
The ‘We Support Peace’ campaign reflects a broader effort to encourage dialogue, tolerance, and unity.
With support from spiritual leaders and global communities, the movement also seeks to address rising tensions and promote a culture of non-violence and understanding worldwide.
