Indian Premier League 2026 featured a sensational batting performance from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, as Rajasthan Royals posted 228/6 in their 20 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday.
Rajasthan began their innings in attacking fashion, with Sooryavanshi taking charge from the first over. He struck four sixes off Praful Hinge to gather 25 runs and maintained the momentum alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, as both batters cleared the boundary against Pat Cummins.
Eshan Malinga provided a breakthrough for SRH by dismissing Jaiswal with a slower ball in the third over. Jaiswal managed 10 runs from eight deliveries.
Despite the wicket, Rajasthan sustained their scoring rate, with Sooryavanshi reaching his fifty in just 15 balls and guiding the team to 73/1 at the end of the powerplay.
Dhruv Jurel supported Sooryavanshi effectively by rotating the strike and accelerating when required. He struck a massive six off Malinga in the 11th over and followed it with a boundary.
Jurel completed a quick half-century before Nitish Kumar Reddy dismissed him on the next ball after a brisk 51 off 25 deliveries.
Sooryavanshi continued his aggressive approach even after losing partners, bringing up his hundred in just 36 balls with consecutive sixes. He was dismissed on the following delivery after being trapped lbw while attempting a reverse shot. His innings of 103 from 37 balls included five fours and 12 sixes.
Riyan Parag further departed for 7 runs, adding to Rajasthan’s setbacks in the latter stages.
Donovan Ferreira provided a late flourish with 33 off 16 balls. Shimron Hetmyer chipped in with 11 runs. Together, they took the total beyond 220.
For SRH, Eshan Malinga returned the best figures with 2/38. Pat Cummins, Praful Hinge, Sakib Hussain, and Nitish Kumar Reddy picked up one wicket each. They, however, struggled to curb the run flow.
