IPL 2026: Delhi Capitals produced a clinical bowling performance in the death overs to restrict Royal Challengers Bengaluru to 175/8 in their IPL 2026 clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.

Opting to bat first, RCB began on a positive note with Phil Salt leading the charge. The opener struck a fluent 63 off 38 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes, giving the innings early momentum.

Delhi’s bowlers staged a strong comeback on a sluggish pitch. They conceded just 29 runs in the final five overs and took four wickets.

RCB’s innings got off to a brisk start as Salt attacked from the outset. Virat Kohli contributed 19 with a couple of elegant strokes before falling to Lungi Ngidi, who forced a mistimed shot to deep cover.

Salt continued his aggressive approach and reached his second half-century of the season with a six off Kuldeep Yadav.

The introduction of spin shifted the balance. Axar Patel removed Devdutt Padikkal, while Kuldeep dismissed Salt in the 11th over. Mukesh Kumar then added to RCB’s troubles by sending Rajat Patidar back, triggering a collapse.

Tim David provided some resistance with a quick 26 off 17 balls, bringing up his 1000th IPL run during the knock. But his dismissal, along with Romario Shepherd’s wicket soon after, saw RCB slip from 110/3 to 149/6.

Delhi’s pacers took complete control in the closing stages.

T Natarajan delivered a superb 19th over, conceding just two runs with accurate yorkers and variations.

In the final over, Ngidi struck again as Jitesh Sharma was caught at long-off, while Krunal Pandya was run out following a mix-up.

Delhi Capitals will look to chase down the target. The pitch conditions and RCB’s bowling strength could, however, make the task challenging.

Brief Scores:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru 175/8 in 20 overs (Phil Salt 63, Tim David 26; Axar Patel 2-18, Kuldeep Yadav 2-32) vs Delhi Capitals
