Royal Challengers Bengaluru showcased a clinical bowling effort, with Rasikh Salam Dar leading the charge, to dismiss Lucknow Super Giants for 146 in 20 overs during their IPL 2026 encounter on Wednesday.
Opting to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants found it difficult to build momentum in the opening overs. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram faced a disciplined attack from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood, managing only a cautious start.
Marsh broke the shackles with a towering six, while Markram followed with an aggressive stroke. Markram’s stay was brief as he miscued a slower ball from Rasikh Dar and departed after scoring 12.
The situation worsened for LSG when skipper Rishabh Pant had to leave the field due to an elbow injury shortly after arriving at the crease. Nicholas Pooran failed to settle and Hazlewood dismissed him, increasing the pressure on the batting side.
Marsh then attempted to stabilise the innings alongside Ayush Badoni, putting together a useful stand before Krunal Pandya dismissed him for 40. Krunal struck again soon after to remove Abdul Samad without scoring.
Ayush Badoni tried to rebuild the innings in partnership with Mukul Choudhary, focusing on strike rotation and calculated hitting. However, Rasikh Dar returned to break the partnership by dismissing Badoni for 38.
Pant came back to bat later but could not regain his rhythm and was dismissed cheaply. Mukul Choudhary continued to fight, contributing a valuable 39, but wickets kept falling at regular intervals.
Rasikh Dar wrapped up the innings by claiming his fourth wicket in the final over, delivering an outstanding spell. Bhuvneshwar Kumar supported him well with three wickets, while Josh Hazlewood maintained tight control with an economical performance.
