After winning the toss, LSG captain Rishabh Pant said, “We would like to bowl first. We want to put the opposition in to bat. We have confidence in our bowlers; they will do their job well. Surely, a win would boost the team’s morale even further. We are playing with the same team.”
Meanwhile, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said, “We also wanted to bowl. Sunil (Naren) has come into the playing XI. Varun is still recovering from his hand injury. When Cameron Green bowls, we have an extra bowler available.”
KKR has played three matches this season, losing their opener against the Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets before defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 65 runs. Their rain-affected match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) ended with points shared, leaving them ninth on the points table.
LSG, on the other hand, has won one of their two matches. They lost to Delhi Capitals (DC) in their opening fixture by six wickets but secured a five-wicket win against SRH to record their first victory, placing them seventh on the points table.
