The Adani Group has been presented with the Net Zero Leadership honour at the ‘India Climate Samman’, held during the India Climate Week 2026 in the national capital. The accolade highlights the Group’s ongoing efforts to contribute meaningfully to climate mitigation and sustainable development.
The award was presented by Shripad Naik. The event was organised by the Carbon Markets Association of India.
Dr Arun Kumar Sharma, who leads ESG initiatives at the Group, received the honour on its behalf.
“This honour acknowledges the Group’s consistent efforts to promote a low-carbon pathway using a science-driven and scalable framework,” he noted.
Sharma further stated, “The organisation is rapidly increasing investments in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and integrated infrastructure while systematically incorporating decarbonisation across its operations and value chains.”
The recognition underscores the Group’s expanding clean energy footprint, its push towards green hydrogen development, and its emphasis on building environmentally responsible infrastructure.
The Adani Group continues to advance its Net Zero targets by integrating sustainability into its core operations. It is also expanding its portfolio of clean energy solutions.
These efforts are aligned with India’s ambition to transition towards a low-carbon economy. They also support the broader Viksit Bharat vision of sustainable and self-reliant growth.
Global Engagement and Partnerships
Earlier this month, the Group was appointed as the official partner for the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development 2026.
This global initiative is spearheaded by UNESCO and implemented by the World Federation of Engineering Organisations. It marks the first instance of an Indian organisation being selected for this role.
Sagar Adani highlighted the Group’s approach, stating, “We are proving that clean energy can be delivered at scale while remaining affordable and inclusive. This represents India’s model of balancing development with sustainability.”
“The Khavda renewable energy project symbolises India’s climate commitment and showcases the collective capabilities of Adani Green Energy, Adani Energy Solutions, and Adani New Industries in building an integrated renewable ecosystem,” he added.
With a sustained focus on innovation and infrastructure, the Adani Group aims to strengthen its contribution to India’s energy transition. It is also positioning itself as a key player in global climate leadership.
