Airtel broadband customers in Noida’s Sector 143 have reported repeated outages lasting 6-7 hours daily for over a month, leaving many frustrated and considering alternative providers.
Deb, a resident of Gulshan Ikebana society, said, “It has been a harrowing experience since February. The internet goes down for 5-6 hours frequently, and there is no respite.”
The outages continued on Monday and Tuesday this week, disrupting work-from-home schedules and daily plans.
Rashmi, another resident, added that the interruptions have disturbed her entire workflow, forcing her to consider switching to Reliance Jio.
Locals and sources claim that ongoing sewer construction nearby is damaging Airtel cables, with JCB cranes frequently hitting lines and causing network shutdowns.
Residents have expressed frustration that neither Airtel nor the Noida Authority has addressed the issue publicly.
“Why can’t Airtel executives coordinate with the Noida Authority to ensure uninterrupted service?” asked one resident, highlighting the lack of communication and accountability.
Airtel users in Delhi and neighbouring areas faced severe outages last year, with customers unable to make calls, send messages, or access the internet.
The company later restored service, stating, “Our customers from Delhi-NCR are experiencing some voice calling issues. A significant part of the issue has been resolved, and our engineers are at work to resolve this fully. We deeply regret any inconvenience.”
Noida residents hope for a similar resolution as the network issues continue, emphasising the importance of reliable broadband for daily work and communication.
