Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to assess the situation concerning petroleum, crude oil, natural gas, power, and fertiliser sectors in light of developments in West Asia.
The meeting focused on evaluating potential risks and ensuring preparedness across critical supply chains.
During the discussion, officials briefed the Prime Minister on the current status of energy supplies and potential disruptions arising from geopolitical tensions. The government emphasised the importance of maintaining adequate reserves and ensuring that supply lines remain stable.
The leadership directed all concerned departments to take necessary measures to guarantee the uninterrupted availability of essential resources. Authorities prioritised maintaining a steady flow of petroleum products, natural gas, and electricity to meet domestic demand.
The meeting also highlighted the need for robust logistics and efficient distribution systems. Officials reviewed transportation networks and storage capacities to prevent bottlenecks and ensure smooth delivery across different regions of the country.
Fertiliser Sector Under Review
In addition to energy, the fertiliser sector received special attention. The government stressed the importance of ensuring the timely availability of fertilisers for farmers, particularly in view of upcoming agricultural cycles.
The Prime Minister urged officials to remain vigilant and proactive in monitoring the evolving situation in West Asia. Ministries were asked to coordinate closely and respond swiftly to any emerging challenges.
The review reflects the government’s broader commitment to safeguarding India’s energy and agricultural needs during periods of global uncertainty. By focusing on supply stability and efficient distribution, authorities aim to minimise the impact of external disruptions on the domestic economy.
