The Group of Seven nations have strongly condemned Iran’s recent attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure across several Middle Eastern countries, calling the actions reckless and unjustifiable.

In a joint communiqué, Foreign Ministers from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, alongside the European Union’s High Representative, expressed solidarity with regional partners facing escalating threats.

The statement criticised Iran and its proxies for targeting civilian populations and key energy infrastructure in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Iraq.

The grouping warned that such aggression jeopardises both regional stability and global security.

The G7 urged Tehran to immediately and unconditionally cease all military activities.

It emphasised the need to protect vital maritime routes, particularly the Strait of Hormuz, and ensure uninterrupted global supply chains and energy flows.

The bloc reaffirmed readiness to stabilise energy markets, referencing coordinated stockpile releases by the International Energy Agency earlier this month.

It highlighted the importance of maintaining confidence in global energy systems amid rising tensions.

Reiterating its long-standing stance, the G7 declared that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons. I

t called on Tehran to halt its ballistic missile programme and end destabilising regional actions, as well as internal repression.

The group also endorsed the right of affected nations to defend their sovereignty and citizens against such attacks.

It pledged unwavering support for their territorial integrity and security.
