Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to enhancing the ease of living for citizens, stating that India’s reform trajectory will continue with renewed vigour in the coming years.
Responding to a social media thread by MyGovIndia on X, the Prime Minister emphasised that the government has worked towards empowering millions of Indians through practical and citizen-centric reforms.

Governance Shift Towards Results-Oriented Reforms
The MyGovIndia post highlighted that 2025 marked a shift towards governance prioritising results over complexity.
Measures such as simplified tax laws, faster dispute resolution, modern labour codes, and decriminalised compliance have reduced friction for both citizens and businesses.
Policies emphasised trust, predictability, and long-term growth, demonstrating how well-designed reforms can improve everyday life.
For taxpayers, the benefits were tangible: incomes up to Rs 12 lakh now attract zero tax, giving middle-class families greater flexibility to spend, save, and invest.
The newly enacted Income Tax Act, 2025, replacing the 1961 law, streamlines compliance, ensures transparency, and aligns with modern needs.
Small businesses and MSMEs have also benefited from higher investment and turnover limits, allowing them to expand while retaining access to loans and tax incentives.
Labour reforms simplified 29 laws into four clear codes covering wages, safety, social security, and industrial relations, ensuring easier compliance, clear rights, and protections for women, including maternity benefits.
Additionally, the government has modernised the GST system with streamlined slabs, automated processes, faster registration, and quicker refunds, further improving the ease of doing business across India.
The effects of these reforms are visible in the market. India recorded a record Rs 6.05 trillion in Diwali sales and the strongest Navratri shopping in over a decade, signalling increased consumer confidence and economic vitality.
PM Modi reiterated that the government’s focus on simplifying governance and empowering citizens will continue unabated, reinforcing India’s commitment to sustainable growth, citizen-centric policy, and a New India vision.
