A case linked to the Namo Bharat train operating in Ghaziabad has come to light, prompting police action after an obscene act inside the train’s premium coach, and the subsequent viral video surfaced on social media. The Muradnagar police station has registered an FIR and initiated an investigation into the matter.
According to the FIR, the incident occurred on November 24, 2025, when train number 23 was travelling from Duhai towards Muradnagar. A young man and a young woman, travelling in the premium coach, allegedly indulged in obscene behaviour in a public place, violating public decency.
A case has been registered against unknown persons under Sections 296 and 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
The complaint in the case was filed by Dushyant Kumar, who is posted as the Chief Security Officer in the DBRRTS department and is associated with the security arrangements of the Namo Bharat train operated under NCRTC. The FIR was registered at Muradnagar police station on 22 December 2025.
During the investigation, it also emerged that train operator Rishabh, while on duty, used his mobile phone inside the operator’s cabin to record a video of the incident and subsequently circulated it on social media. This act not only violated company regulations but also constituted a punishable offence under the law.
Police Initiate Investigation, Operator Dismissed
On 3 Dec, the company working under NCRTC terminated the services of the concerned train operator. In addition, a separate case has been registered against him under Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.
