NIA arrests Kashmiri car owner linked to Delhi Red Fort blast, probing wider terror conspiracy.

NIA Arrests Kashmiri Car Owner Linked To Delhi Red Fort Blast

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Kashmiri resident in connection with the November 10 Red Fort area car bomb blast, officials said on Sunday.

The arrest marks a breakthrough in the ongoing terror probe.

The NIA arrested Amir Rashid Ali in Delhi. He had registered the car involved in the attack in his name.

The NIA launched a massive search operation after taking over the case from the Delhi Police, officials added.

Investigations revealed that Ali, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, conspired with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi, to carry out the attack.

Ali travelled to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the car.

Suspect Conspired With Bomber

The attackers converted the car into a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED). They used it in the blast.

The NIA has forensically confirmed the identity of the deceased driver of the Vehicle-Borne IED as Umar Un Nabi.

Nabi, a resident of Pulwama District, served as an Assistant Professor in the General Medicine Department at Al Falah University, Faridabad.

Furthermore, the NIA seized another vehicle belonging to Nabi during the investigation.

Officials are examining it for evidence related to the case. So far, the agency has questioned 73 witnesses, including victims injured in the blast that shook the national capital.

The NIA is coordinating closely with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, UP Police, and other sister agencies.

Investigators are pursuing multiple leads to uncover the broader conspiracy behind the bombing and identify other individuals involved.

The case is being handled under RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.

Authorities emphasised that the investigation remains active and comprehensive. Teams are working across states to ensure that all aspects of the plot are uncovered.

Investigators expect Amir Rashid Ali’s arrest to provide critical insights into the planning and execution of the attack.

It brings investigators closer to dismantling the larger terror network involved.

The Red Fort blast remains a key focus of counter-terror operations. Indian security agencies continue efforts to prevent acts of terror and ensure public safety.
