CMD and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express News Network, Upendrra Rai, received a grand welcome at a tribute ceremony commemorating the death anniversary of freedom fighter Babu Genda Singh.

During the celebrations, an elephant adorned with a garland honoured Rai, while a large gathering of locals witnessed the spectacle at The Golden Resort, Kasya.

Local social organisations and regional representatives organised the event to mark the annual remembrance of Babu Genda Singh, whom people in Kushinagar and across the Purvanchal region celebrate as a frontline warrior of India’s freedom struggle.
Babu Genda Singh was a former minister and MP who championed social justice and rural development in both Parliament and the state government.
His contributions to society continue to inspire generations, and annual commemorations attract a large number of participants eager to pay tribute.
This year’s ceremony also recognised families of local freedom fighters, social workers, and individuals who have made notable contributions across various fields.
