‘Will Never Forget This Gesture’: PM Modi Thanks Bhutan For prayers To Delhi Blast Victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday thanked Bhutan for showing solidarity and praying for the Delhi blast victims. He said he would always remember the country’s heartfelt gesture.

Bhutan’s King Druk Gyalpo led a mass prayer at Changlimethang Stadium in Thimphu.

Thousands of Bhutanese citizens joined him to mourn the victims of the tragic explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station.

The Bhutanese leadership conveyed condolences for the blast that killed eight people and injured dozens on Monday evening.

PM Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Bhutan, shared his gratitude on X.

He wrote, “At the programme to mark the 70th birthday of His Majesty the Fourth King, the people of Bhutan expressed solidarity with the people of India in the wake of the blast in Delhi through a unique prayer. I will never forget this gesture.”

PM Modi lauded Bhutan’s compassion and reaffirmed India’s commitment to justice at Changlimethang Ground.

“Today is a very important day for Bhutan, for the royal family, and for all who believe in world peace. India and Bhutan share a deep spiritual and cultural bond, and it was my commitment to be part of this occasion,” he said.

He said that security and intelligence agencies were working tirelessly to trace those responsible.

PM Modi also said that he personally contacted all investigating agencies throughout the night.
