Sarojini Nagar MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh spearheaded a development-focused event organised by Environment Warriors to promote education, women empowerment, and sustainable growth in the region.

The programme, held on Wednesday, highlighted the synergy of technology, skill development, and environmental stewardship in holistic rural progress.

Dr Singh inaugurated a smart classroom at Primary School Chokhapuri, a project he had previously funded. He also announced ₹1 lakh assistance for the school’s overall development.

In addition, he provided ₹25,000 support to Primary School Hussainnagar and pledged to install a digital smart classroom there. Plans were also revealed to upgrade the school to the upper primary level and allocate land for an open gym and sports ground.

Taking a significant step towards women’s self-reliance, Dr Singh handed over 14 sewing machines to the Forest Department for establishing the Tara Shakti Centre at Mustafabad Forest Rest House. The centre aims to equip women in the Terai region with skill development and self-employment opportunities.

Dr Singh emphasised, “True development happens where daughters study, mothers earn, and forests breathe.”

Green Initiatives and Public Participation

Addressing the gathering, Dr Singh underscored that technology in education, environmental protection, and women’s empowerment are crucial to rural development.

He called upon citizens to safeguard the Terai forests, describing them as the lungs of Uttar Pradesh.

He added, “A smart village is where computer classes run and trees around continue to breathe.”

The event witnessed participation from Forest Department officials, teachers, Environment Warriors members, and numerous villagers. Ambalika Group President Ambika Mishra appreciated Dr Singh’s ongoing socio-educational initiatives and pledged future support.

Distinguished attendees included former IRS officer Rameshwar Singh, Munish Pathak, Prabal Pratap Singh, Vipin Kumar, Braj Baba, Rishi Pal Singh Lodi, Gram Pradhan Man Singh, and several local dignitaries.

Dr Rajeshwar Singh’s initiatives exemplify a commitment to integrating education, women’s empowerment, and environmental conservation for sustainable regional development.
