PM Modi To Mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas In Gujarat With Two-Day Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat on October 30 and 31 to participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will pay floral tributes at the Statue of Unity and inaugurate several development projects in Ekta Nagar, aimed at strengthening tourism, infrastructure, and sustainable development in the region.

On October 30, PM Modi will flag off a new fleet of electric buses in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, underscoring the government’s commitment to green and sustainable mobility.

He will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple projects worth over ₹1,140 crore, promoting eco-tourism and inclusive regional development.

Key projects to be inaugurated include the Birsa Munda Tribal University in Rajpipla, Hospitality District (Phase-1) at Garudeshwar, Vaman Vriksha Vatika, Satpuda Protection Wall, E-Bus Charging Depot with 25 electric buses, Narmada Ghat Extension, Kaushalya Path, walkway from Ekta Dwar to Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan (Phase-2), Smart Bus Stops (Phase-2), Dam Replica Fountain, and GSEC Quarters.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones for landmark initiatives such as the Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India, Veer Balak Udyan, a Sports Complex, a Rainforest Project, Jetty Development near Shoolpaneshwar Ghat, and Travelators at the Statue of Unity complex, enhancing accessibility and the overall visitor experience.

Commemorative Coin and Stamp Release

As part of the celebrations, PM Modi will release a special commemorative ₹150 coin and a postage stamp to honour the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel — a tribute to the leader who played a pivotal role in integrating more than 560 princely states to forge a united India after Independence.

On October 31, the Prime Minister will lead the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas programme, offering floral tributes to Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity and administering the Ekta Diwas pledge to reaffirm the nation’s commitment to unity, integrity, and internal security.

He will also witness the Ekta Diwas Parade, featuring contingents from the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, and various state police forces.

This year’s parade will feature several unique elements — including a BSF marching contingent with indigenous dog breeds such as Rampur Hounds and Mudhol Hounds, the Gujarat Police Horse Contingent, the Assam Police Motorcycle Daredevil Show, and the BSF Camel Contingent with its Camel Mounted Band.

The government will honour five Shaurya Chakra awardees from the CRPF and sixteen gallantry medal winners from the BSF for their courageous actions during anti-Naxal operations in Jharkhand and counter-terrorism missions in Jammu and Kashmir.

It will also felicitate BSF personnel who demonstrated exceptional bravery during Operation Sindoor.

This year’s Rashtriya Ekta Diwas holds special significance as the nation pays tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s enduring legacy — the visionary leader who united India’s princely states and laid the foundation for the country’s territorial and political integrity.
