A 9 mm bullet was found in a commuter’s bag at Hyderabad’s Moosapet Metro Station, prompting his detention and a police investigation.

Hyderabad Metro

A 9 mm bullet was found in a commuter’s bag at Hyderabad’s Moosapet Metro Station, police confirmed on Sunday. Security staff discovered the bullet during a routine luggage scan on Saturday night.

The passenger, identified as Mohammed from Bihar, is employed at a local fabrication unit.

The incident occurred when Mohammed’s bag was placed in the scanner before he boarded the train.

During the inspection, security personnel spotted the bullet and immediately informed senior officials. He was detained on the spot and handed over to the police.

Acting on a complaint from Metro security, Kukatpally Police registered a case and began inquiries.

Investigators are now working to establish how the bullet came into the man’s possession.

Officers said Mohammed, who lives in Pragathinagar, was being questioned.

Only a month ago, the Moosapet Metro Station was the scene of another violent episode involving a stabbing.

A 19-year-old woman was injured after being attacked by her boyfriend.

Police said the 20-year-old accused allegedly slashed her in the stomach with a blade during an argument. It was later revealed that he became violent after she began avoiding him because of his alcohol addiction.

The two had reportedly studied together at a government school in Moosapet until Class 10 and later entered a relationship.

Despite leaving school for financial reasons, they stayed in contact.

However, matters deteriorated when the accused’s drinking habit worsened, causing the woman to distance herself.

Separate Incident in Nizamabad

In another unrelated incident, police in Nizamabad, Telangana, are searching for a man accused of killing a police constable.

Constable E Pramod, aged 42, was fatally stabbed by a known offender during an operation related to a motorcycle theft case on the night of 17 October.

Pramod and his nephew had gone to detain the suspect, identified as Riyaz.

Pramod was driving the motorbike, with his nephew riding pillion and Riyaz seated between them.

During the journey, the 24-year-old suspect suddenly attacked Pramod with a knife.

When the constable’s nephew tried to intervene, he too was stabbed. Two of Riyaz’s accomplices soon arrived on another motorcycle and helped him flee the scene.

A Sub-Inspector who tried to stop them was also assaulted.

Pramod was taken to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. His nephew remains in the hospital receiving treatment, police said.
