On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to roll out a series of major infrastructure and industrial projects worth about Rs 13,430 crore in Andhra Pradesh.
The ventures cover a broad range of areas, including manufacturing, power transmission, transport, defence production, and the petroleum and natural gas sectors.
PM Modi will lead a public programme in Kurnool, where he will inaugurate, launch, and dedicate these developments while addressing citizens attending the event.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has invited the Prime Minister to join the gathering themed ‘Super GST – Super Saving’, an awareness campaign launched by the state government to highlight the recent GST reforms promoting fiscal responsibility and efficiency.
Itinerary
Before the formal event, PM Modi will visit the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam temple in Srisailam, Nandyal district, to perform Pooja and Darshan, followed by a stop at the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra.
From there, he will travel to Kurnool to lay the foundation stone for the Transmission System Strengthening project at the Kurnool-III Pooling Station, an investment exceeding Rs 2,880 crore.
The plan includes establishing a 765-kV double-circuit transmission line connecting Kurnool-III Pooling Station and Chilakaluripeta, increasing the transformation capacity by 6,000 MVA.
This upgrade will enable greater transfer of renewable energy, supporting the expansion of India’s national grid and advancing sustainable power generation.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation for the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool and the Kopparthy Industrial Area in Kadapa, being developed jointly by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC).
Together, they represent investments worth more than Rs 4,920 crore.
Designed as modern industrial ecosystems with plug-and-play facilities and a walk-to-work approach, these hubs will likely attract nearly Rs 21,000 crore in further investments and generate about one lakh new jobs, driving industrial expansion across the Rayalaseema region.
Focus Areas
In road infrastructure, the Prime Minister will launch construction of a six-lane Greenfield Highway between Sabbavaram and Sheelanagar, valued at over Rs 960 crore.
The new link aims to ease traffic in Visakhapatnam, boost trade, and create employment opportunities.
Additionally, he will open six completed road projects costing around Rs 1,140 crore to improve connectivity, safety, and travel efficiency across the state.
In the railways sector, PM Modi will dedicate and initiate projects totalling more than Rs 1,200 crore. Among them are the Kottavalasa–Vizianagaram Fourth Line and the rail flyover between Pendurti and Simhachalam North.

PM Modi will further open Indian Oil’s new LPG bottling plant at Chittoor, built at a cost of about Rs 200 crore with a capacity of 60 thousand metric tonnes per annum.
Serving over 7.2 lakh consumers through 80 distributors in seven districts, four in Andhra Pradesh, two in Tamil Nadu, and one in Karnataka, the facility will secure consistent and efficient LPG distribution across the region.
Reinforcing India’s defence manufacturing sector, the Prime Minister will also dedicate Bharat Electronics Limited’s Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru in Krishna district.
Developed at an estimated cost of Rs 360 crore, the unit will produce advanced electro-optical equipment for the Indian Armed Forces, promoting domestic defence capability and generating skilled employment, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
