The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has issued a fact check after Pakistani propaganda accounts circulated a digitally manipulated video allegedly showing Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (CD&S) Lt Gen Rahul R Singh making sensitive statements about Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) and Chinese satellites.
The fake video purportedly shows Lt Gen Singh saying, “DGMO of Pakistan knew everything, which was also one of the worries for the Indian Army. How can we move our assets when he is aware of every single location due to Chinese satellites?”
The PIB clarified that Lt Gen Rahul R Singh has made no such statement. The bureau urged the public not to fall for deepfake videos designed to mislead viewers and spread disinformation.
