The Prime Minister further lauded the IAF for its exemplary role in safeguarding Indian skies, executing missions during challenging situations, and providing crucial assistance during natural calamities.
A Legacy of Bravery and Discipline
The Indian Air Force (IAF), the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces, was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of British India. Over the decades, it has evolved into one of the most formidable air powers in the world.
Its primary mission is to secure Indian airspace and conduct aerial warfare during armed conflicts, while also supporting humanitarian and disaster relief operations.
PM Modi emphasised the professionalism, commitment, and indomitable spirit of the Air Warriors that continue to inspire the nation.
This year, the celebrations took place at Hindon Air Force Station, honouring the valour and dedication of the men and women in blue.
Special tribute was paid to Operation Sindoor, a defining moment in the IAF’s operational history.
Key dignitaries present included Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi.
Air Chief Marshal Singh inspected the ceremonial parade, showcasing the bravery, discipline, and precision of India’s air warriors.
Demonstration of Strength and Precision
During Operation Sindoor in May 2025, the IAF demonstrated rapid deployment and combat capabilities as part of India’s response to the Pahalgam attack.
The parade at Hindon featured a grand march past by Air Warriors alongside fighter jets displayed on the tarmac, reflecting the IAF’s operational readiness and strategic strength.
The celebrations highlighted not only the military prowess of the force but also the IAF’s dedication to national security, disaster response, and aerial excellence.
Furthermore, PM Modi’s message reaffirmed the nation’s pride in the Indian Air Force and its personnel.
The 93rd IAF Day celebrations serve as a reminder of the sacrifices, skill, and precision of Air Warriors who protect the skies and support national defence objectives.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the IAF’s unwavering professionalism, technological expertise, and readiness ensure India remains secure, resilient, and respected on the global stage.
