Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the newly constructed Sabar Dairy Plant at IMT Rohtak on Friday, marking a major milestone in India’s cooperative and dairy sectors.
Built at a cost of ₹325 crore, the plant will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and will become India’s largest production facility for curd, buttermilk, and yoghurt.
The facility will produce 150 metric tonnes of curd, 3 lakh litres of buttermilk, 10 lakh litres of yoghurt, and 10 metric tonnes of sweets daily, and will generate 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, boosting local employment and strengthening the cooperative model of growth.
Promotion of Indigenous Industries
As part of his visit to Rohtak, HM Shah will inaugurate the ‘Khadi Karigar Mahotsav’ at Maharshi Dayanand University.
Organised by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of MSME, the event, themed ‘Swadeshi Se Swaavlamban’, aims to promote self-reliance through indigenous craftsmanship and local enterprise.
During the programme, HM Shah will distribute modern tool kits to 2,200 artisans and release ₹301 crore as margin money under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
He will also inaugurate new PMEGP units, reinforcing the Centre’s commitment to supporting rural entrepreneurs and traditional artisans.
The festival will serve as a key initiative to revive Khadi and village industries, empowering artisans and strengthening local economies.
Exhibition on New Criminal Laws in Kurukshetra
Later in Kurukshetra, Amit Shah will inaugurate a five-day exhibition on India’s new criminal laws, aimed at educating lawyers, students, parents, and citizens about reforms in the criminal justice system.
The exhibition will feature 10 thematic sections curated by seven departments, showcasing the transformative changes introduced under the new legal framework.
Amit Shah’s Haryana visit will further highlight the government’s ongoing efforts to foster cooperative development, employment generation, and public awareness.
The ₹825 crore projects will strengthen the state’s economic infrastructure and reflect the Centre’s vision of ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’—prosperity through cooperation.
Through these initiatives, the Union Minister will reaffirm the government’s commitment to building a self-reliant India, empowering local industries, and promoting legal literacy across the country.
