PM Modi To Join Durga Puja Celebrations At CR Park’s Iconic Kali Mandir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join devotees in celebrating Durga Puja at the revered Kali Mandir and Shiva Temple in Chittaranjan Park (CR Park), South Delhi, on Tuesday, coinciding with the sacred occasion of Maha Ashtami.

The visit marks a culturally significant moment during the ongoing Navratri festivities, which annually draw thousands of worshippers and visitors to the area.

The Prime Minister’s presence at one of Delhi’s most iconic Durga Puja celebrations underscores his message of unity through spiritual and cultural traditions.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, the Special Protection Group (SPG) carried out a comprehensive security review on Monday.

In line with heightened protocols, authorities have instructed local residents to remove vehicles parked along the main approach roads to ensure clear access routes.

They have also temporarily relocated street vendors and hawkers from designated zones to maintain safety and manage crowd movement effectively.

The Delhi Police has coordinated extensive arrangements with local authorities to ensure a seamless and secure environment throughout the celebrations.

Traffic Advisory Issued for Commuters

The Delhi Traffic Police has released an advisory cautioning the public about possible congestion and diversions in and around CR Park due to the festivities.

Heavy traffic is expected on major arterial routes, including the Outer Ring Road (between Panchsheel and Greater Kailash), Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, JB Tito Marg, Inder Mohan Bhardwaj Marg, and the CR Park Main Road.

Vehicular restrictions will also apply on Gurudwara Road, Bipin Chandra Pal Marg, and several internal roads within CR Park and Greater Kailash-II.

Authorities will implement diversions from key junctions such as the Panchsheel, IIT, and Nehru Place flyovers and will reroute light and heavy goods vehicles accordingly.

They have advised commuters to use alternative routes, including MG Road, Aurobindo Marg, Mathura Road, Lala Lajpat Rai Road, and Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, with these restrictions remaining in effect until 2 October.

The CR Park Durga Puja is among the capital’s most renowned celebrations, known for its elaborate pandals, devotional music, and traditional rituals.

The Kali Mandir complex, established in the 1970s, stands as a spiritual and cultural landmark for Delhi’s Bengali community.

People view PM Modi’s participation as a gesture of cultural solidarity and reverence for India’s enduring spiritual heritage.

His presence inspires devotees and highlights the festival’s message of devotion, unity, and the triumph of good over evil.
