
Tata Power’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Sanjeev Churiwala, received the prestigious ‘CFO of the Year 2024-25’ award from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The award was presented during the 4th CFO Excellence Awards ceremony held recently in Hyderabad. Tata Power hailed the recognition as a significant milestone for the company.
CII honoured Churiwala for his leadership in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), fundraising, and building Tata Power’s green energy platform.
A Chartered Accountant and Executive MBA graduate from the London Business School, Churiwala brings over three decades of experience in financial transformation and long-term value creation.
Driving Tata Power’s Green Energy Strategy
Tata Power, which serves 12.5 million customers across India with a diverse energy portfolio of 15.5 GW, has set an ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045.
Under Churiwala’s strategic guidance, the company has emerged as a leader in the renewable energy sector with 6.7 GW of clean energy capacity.
The CII CFO Excellence Awards honour excellence in financial governance, innovation, and ethics. Recognising Churiwala’s contributions, the award not only highlights his personal achievements but also underscores his pivotal role in advancing Tata Power’s renewable energy revolution.
Experts believe this recognition will further strengthen Tata Power’s position in helping India achieve its sustainable energy goals.
