As India marks the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid glowing tribute to his leadership and legacy, calling him ‘a leader sent to Earth with a divine purpose’.
Singh praised the Prime Minister’s discipline, depth of knowledge, and tireless dedication, saying these qualities have enabled him to steer India towards a position of global respect and influence.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media platform X under the hashtag #MyModiStory, Singh recalled his first interaction with PM Modi during a BJP rally in Jhansi.
Despite speaking for only a few minutes, PM Modi had left a lasting impression. “That day, I thought to myself, if the BJP has a future, it is in Modi ji,” he wrote.
Singh reminisced about PM Modi’s role as convenor during the early days of Murli Manohar Joshi’s Yatra, highlighting how even then, PM Modi displayed clarity, vision, and leadership.
A Man of Uncommon Discipline
The Defence Minister also shared anecdotes illustrating PM Modi’s personal discipline and humility. During the 2009 election campaign, PM Modi had visited Singh’s residence after completing his assigned responsibilities to personally report back.
“Such commitment is rare,” Singh noted.
He further described PM Modi as someone who, despite the enormous pressures of political life, remains calm and cheerful.
“He’s always in a jolly mood, never showing stress, no matter how demanding the situation,” Singh said.
Singh also revealed that PM Modi had travelled to several countries even before his tenure as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, driven by a desire to understand different cultures.
This early global exposure, according to Singh, contributed to his broader worldview.
“This level of awareness does not come without divine grace,” he remarked.
Beyond strategic thinking, Singh emphasised PM Modi’s emotional depth.
“He’s deeply empathetic. News of a tragedy affects him instantly. His eyes well up,” he shared.
Born in Vadnagar, Gujarat, on 17 September 1950, PM Modi came from humble beginnings. From helping at his father’s tea stall to exploring India in search of spiritual insight, his journey has been marked by determination and purpose.
Influenced by Swami Vivekananda, his path later led him to the RSS and then to the BJP in 1985.
Now in his third consecutive term as Prime Minister, PM Modi continues to shape India’s development trajectory, with ambitious goals such as Viksit Bharat 2047.
As Rajnath Singh put it, “God has sent him for a special purpose – and that purpose is unfolding before our eyes.”
