Delhi High Court Issues Notice In ₹30,000 Crore Estate Dispute Involving Karishma Kapoor’s Children

Delhi HC issues notice in ₹30,000 crore estate row involving Karishma Kapoor’s children over alleged forged will and hidden assets.

Karishma Kapoor

The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Priya Sachdev Kapoor following a petition filed by the two children of actress Karishma Kapoor, in connection with the late businessman Sanjay Kapoor’s ₹30,000 crore estate.

Justice Jyoti Singh directed Priya to respond within two weeks, with the next hearing scheduled for October 9.

Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, who represents the petitioners, accused Priya Sachdev Kapoor of presenting a fabricated and unregistered will after Sanjay Kapoor’s death.

The petitioners claim that Priya Sachdev Kapoor deliberately concealed the will for nearly seven weeks and presented it only at a family meeting on 30 July 2025.

According to the petition, the will excludes the children entirely, raising suspicion.

Senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, appearing for Priya Sachdev Kapoor, opposed the maintainability of the petition.

He argued that the will’s lack of registration does not negate its legal standing, referencing precedents that uphold the validity of unregistered wills. Nayar further alleged that the children had recently received ₹1,900 crore from a trust linked to the estate.

To ensure transparency, the High Court has ordered Priya to disclose all movable and immovable assets belonging to Sanjay Kapoor at the time of his death. The petitioners are seeking an interim injunction to prevent any transfer of assets while the case is ongoing.

Sanjay Kapoor’s Death and Children’s Inheritance Dispute

Sanjay Kapoor passed away in June 2025 while playing golf in the United Kingdom. Medical reports revealed he suffered a fatal heart attack caused by a bee entering his mouth.

He was married to Karishma Kapoor from 2003 until their divorce in 2016. They share two children, a son and a daughter.

The children now contend that Priya Kapoor, in collaboration with others, manipulated and concealed the will to deprive them of their rightful inheritance.

The petitioners claim that no one has shown them either the original document or a copy of the will.

Courts, media, and the public are closely watching this high-stakes legal battle involving family inheritance, celebrity status, and high-value assets.
