The ‘SEMICON India 2025’ conference in Delhi has emerged as a milestone event, drawing global leaders, policymakers, academia, companies and start-ups to showcase India’s growing influence in the semiconductor sector.

According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the three-day gathering acted as a catalyst for investment, innovation, and strategic partnerships.

The event focused on enabling cross-border collaboration, accelerating research commercialisation, enhancing skill development and integrating Indian firms into the global semiconductor value chain. It follows earlier successful editions held in Bengaluru, Gandhinagar and Greater Noida.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inaugurating the conference, underscored the country’s long-term commitment to building a robust semiconductor ecosystem.

“The day is not far when India’s smallest chip will drive the world’s biggest change,” he said, adding that the government is preparing the next phase of the India Semiconductor Mission with sustained reforms and policies aimed at making India self-reliant and globally competitive.

More than 350 exhibiting companies and participants from 48 countries and regions attended the event.

Four country pavilions, six round tables and a dedicated workforce development pavilion addressed topics spanning semiconductor design, fabrication, packaging, display manufacturing, R&D and state-level policy initiatives.

The IT Ministry reported over 35,000 registrations, 30,000 physical footfalls and 25,000 online views, setting a new benchmark for the series. Jointly organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) under MeitY and SEMI, the global semiconductor industry association, the conference underlined India’s transformation from a nascent player to a significant contributor in the global semiconductor ecosystem.

Industry experts noted that SEMICON India 2025 demonstrates the country’s readiness to play a defining role in next-generation chip design and manufacturing, supported by strong domestic demand, policy reforms and international collaboration.
