Fijian PM Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka arrived at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi, on Sunday to begin his first official three-day visit to India.
Union Minister of State for Education and Development of the Eastern Region, Sukanta Majumdar, welcomed him at the airport.
Delegation Accompanies PM Rabuka
Rabuka is accompanied by his spouse, Sulueti Rabuka, Fiji’s Minister of Health and Medical Services, Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu, and several senior officials.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the news on social media paltform.
Taking to X, he posted, “Warm welcome to PM Sitiveni Rabuka of Fiji @slrabuka as he arrives in New Delhi on his first visit. PM Rabuka was received by MoS Education & DoNER @DrSukantaBJP at the airport. The visit will further deepen India-Fiji partnership across diverse sectors.”

During his visit, Prime Minister Rabuka will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday and will also call on President Droupadi Murmu.
The visit follows the 6th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) held in Suva, Fiji, in July 2025.
Both sides reviewed cooperation in areas including health, education, trade and investment, agriculture, renewable energy, climate change, and cultural exchanges.
The Indian delegation was led by Neena Malhotra, Secretary (South), MEA, while Raijeli Taga, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, represented Fiji.
Strengthening Bilateral Ties
India and Fiji reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and maintaining regular high-level political engagements.
The next round of Foreign Office Consultations will take place in New Delhi in 2026, at a mutually convenient time.
